I attended the public hearing in Plano regarding the sale of the 121 tollway to Cintra for $2.1 billion. As most know, this public hearing was more show than substance as the deal was announced the following day. A Tx Dot spokesman essentially read a prepared document regarding the plan. Following an intermission, 4-5 concerned citizens voiced their opinion followed by applause.
Outside of the employees required to be there, only probably 2 dozen citizens showed up along with Mayor Simpson and City Manager George Purefoy.
