I got to take a break tonight from the campaign trail and attend the Jimmy Buffett concert with my wife and some friends. I was my first Margaritaville experience. As always, Pizza Hut Park was a great venue for a concert and the weather was perfect. Jimmy Buffett's performance was not bad either.
Of course, all of my friend's were calling me on the way home asking what I was going to do about the traffic problem after concerts when I am on Council. I guess that goes with the territory.

Mix and Mingle at Bonnie Ruth's
Tonight we had our Frisco-Online.com Mix and Mingle at Bonnie Ruth's. What a great turnout! Bonnie is always such a great host and I finally got to meet "Mr. Bonnie Ruth." If you have not been yet, this has quickly become the hottest spot in Frisco. The back patio is incredible with a fireplace. I look forward to Dana and I getting to have a "date night" there....I think Dana's birthday on April 16th will be the perfect opportunity.

The Power of a Dream Golf Classic All Sports Challenge
Today I was invited to participate in the The Power of a Dream Golf Classic All Sports Challenge. Last year's winner was Tony Romo....before he was famous. Frisco-Online.com is helping sponsor this event and so they invited me to participate along with loca celebrities and media members.
It was a fun competition that included long drive, closest to the pin, chipping and putting. My golf game is rusty so I did not win. However, my playing partner was Burton Gilliam - perhaps better known as "The Pace Picante Sauce, 'Git a rope,' Man." He now does the Rodeo Ford commercials with the catch phrase "I don't care how you get here....just get here." He was a riot and a great deal of fun to play with.
The event this weekend is at the Trails golf course and is a great event to attend with the family:

Donuts with Dad
Today was a special day for me and my 2 boys, Zach and Mason. They attend Stonebriar Preschool Pals and we had "Donuts with Dad" in the morning. They had made me a tie and a card. I also got a mousepad with their hand imprint that I use at my office now. Since I have 2 boys, I got a double helping of donuts :)
It was a great time with my sons and also great to see the other Dads again

Frisco Family Services Boots, Bandanas, and Bowties Gala

Wow, what an incredible event. Kudos to Frisco Family Services for a first class event. The highlight of the evening was the auctioneer, who had Dana and I still chuckling on Sunday. Unfortunately, I did not win the Lexus raffle. However, I was the winning bidder on a custom spa package for the 6 ladies that work for me (boss brownie points), a gift basket from RoBears Gourmet baskets, and a gift card for a pizzeria. It was all great fun in the spirit of charity!

The Mayor Gets Roasted!
We attended the Mayor's Roasting benefitting the Frisco Miracle League on Saturday night. Although the roasting of the Mayor was comical, the highlight of the night came from the National Anthem....one of the most moving I have ever heard. The young gentleman who sang had the room in tears.
Perhaps the best roasting came from Maher Maso whose photoshop photos of the Mayor were very funny. Although the video of the Mayor's Elvis impersonation gave him a run for his money.
Joy West and Sandy Simpson finished the night off by announcing that the field was to be named the E. Mike Simpson Field.
